I usually shy away from options, though I will consider for my own account on a speculative set-up but only when premium is very low.
I'll sell from zero to 100% stocks short in my position, depending on the outlook at the time. Not sure if I understood that question, but basically I'm continuously adjusting short vs. long exposure.

ah okay. the question there was what % you sell short as opposed to put short. you answered the question somewhere in there, though.
