I am left with but one long & four short positions. Beware chop-suey (I tell myself).

Now may be different ;) ...if we drive to lower-lows today and there is nothing especially strong under the surface I'll have to lighten and/or hedge.; eat my words and recoil. yesterday was not quite as bad as Tues was good - but close enough certainly

You are one of the better traders on the net. As someone who has been trading full time for less than a year, I appreciate your thoughtful analysis and objectivity. I have learned a lot from your patience in not trying to chase a turn "the costly last 1/8 or the first 1/8 of the turn" to paraphrase Livermore. Watching your work has helped me to see how this plays out in real time.

I would add this... These are unusual times and it becomes more important (imo) to capture gains when they are substantial...but in general it is important to let good-gains become big-gains over time; which is how you end up with a big year.
Today's mkt is volatile enough that a big gain can be had in a couple of weeks or days (earlier when VIX was crazy-high it was in a couple of hours for some plays).
So Livermore, Loeb and O'Neil are right still, but perhaps the time for such moves has been quite a bit concentrated last several months.
